SPOTLIGHT: International Surf Festival weekend
The International Surf Festival, the Beach Cities most popular participatory sporting event of the year started Wednesday with youth sailing, and continues through Sunday Aug. 7. Over 1,000 swimmers will compete in the Dwight Crum Pier to Pier Swim Sunday morning. Thousands more will compete in the Charlie Saikley Six Man/Woman Volleyball Tournament (Friday and Saturday), body surfing, surfing, paddling, and running (Saturday); and youth swims, youth 6 boys/girls volleyball, and more paddling on Sunday.
